My Fine Art Portrait Session Process

My fine art portrait session process is the same no matter what type of session you are booking.  And they all begin with:

The in-person consultation

As a professional fine art photographer, I understand the importance of creating a personalized portrait experience for each of my clients. That’s why I offer in-person consultations for all of my photography sessions, including portrait sessions and fine art projects.

During the consultation, we will sit down and discuss your vision for the session. Whether you have a specific idea in mind or would like some guidance and inspiration, I will work with you to plan a session that truly captures the essence of who you are.

We will also discuss the fine art pieces you are interested in creating. Being a product-based photographer is my absolute passion in life.  Rest assured, I have spent hundreds of hours searching for and curating the products that I offer my clients to ensure they are top notch.  They come from all over the world to include Italy, Ireland and beyond.

Whether you are looking for a stunning statement metal print piece for your living room or a series of portraits to document your family’s journey, I will work with you to choose the perfect medium, size, and framing options to create a piece that you will cherish for years to come.

In addition to discussing the details of your session, we will also talk about the location and wardrobe options. Whether you would like to capture your family in your home or at a local park, I will work with you to select the perfect location that will provide the best backdrop for your portraits. And, if you need help with wardrobe selection, I am happy to provide guidance, suggestions and in most cases the outfits themselves from my client closet to ensure that you look your best in your portraits.

The in-person consultation is also an opportunity for you to get to know me and my work. You will be able to see samples of my fine art pieces and discuss my style and approach to photography. This will give you a better understanding of what to expect from your session and ensure that we are a good fit for each other.

At the end of the consultation, you will have a clear understanding of what it is that I do and what that means for your session, including the location, wardrobe, and fine art pieces you are interested in creating. You will also have all of your questions answered and any concerns addressed, ensuring that you are confident and excited for your session.

In conclusion, the in-person consultation is an important part of the fine art photography process. It provides an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss your vision for the session, and ensure that we are creating something truly beautiful and meaningful for you. Session day

My passion lies in capturing the beauty of your loved ones and the world around us and creating fine art pieces that are treasured by my clients for years to come.

Recently, I had the opportunity to do a portrait session for a wonderful family. The session took place at a local state park, where the natural setting provided the perfect backdrop for the portraits.

From the moment I arrived, I could see the love and connection between the family. As we walked around the park, I captured candid moments of the children playing, the parents laughing, and the family enjoying each other’s company.

When it was time for the posed portraits, I carefully composed each shot to highlight the family’s connection and love for one another. The final result was a stunning collection of images that perfectly captured the joy and love within the family.

We ended the session by scheduling their ordering appointment, the day everyone looks forward to- seeing their portraits for the first time!

The ordering appointment

The ordering appointment is an exciting day.  You return to my in-home studio and we review the curated and soft proofed images together.  I will help you make decisions on larger wall art pieces and the other favorites are usually filtered into a collection box or an album.

As I mentioned before, I specialize in creating fine art pieces for my clients. From stunning landscapes to intimate still lifes, each piece is carefully crafted to evoke emotion and bring the beauty of the world into the homes of my clients.

I work with a variety of options, including high-quality prints on fine art paper, canvas, and even metal. Each piece is created to the highest standards, ensuring that it will last for generations to come.

At the conclusion of your ordering appointment, I will send you on your way and then I will begin editing your images to perfection.  Once I deem them worthy, I send them off to my professional photo labs to have your art pieces crafted.

I am passionate about my work and the impact it has on my clients. I believe that art has the power to transform a space and bring joy to those who view it. That’s why I take such care in the creation of each piece, ensuring that it is not only beautiful, but also meaningful to my clients.

Whether I am capturing memories in a portrait session or creating a fine art piece, my goal is always the same: to create something beautiful and meaningful that will be cherished for years to come. If you are looking for a photographer who is passionate about their work and dedicated to creating pieces that you will love, I would be honored to work with you.
